Press & Fold began with one person noticing exactly that.
I was given a journal as a gift and used it, on and off, for six years. One stretch turned into months of writing every day, until somewhere around week ten the questions started to wear thin. The same six prompts, in the same order, asking the same things. So I built my own version, with the questions I actually wanted to answer. For the first time, the journal felt less like a form to fill in and more like a conversation. Like something genuinely curious about me.
That small shift turned into a larger belief. After years of trying most of the usual ways to stay in tune with myself, one thing kept proving itself: awareness is a skill. Not a personality trait you either have or you don't. Something you develop, slowly and honestly, through practice. And when you develop it, something quietly changes. The decisions you make begin to belong to you a little more. The intentions you set begin to reflect what you actually value. The life you're living begins to resemble the one you actually want.
This is what Press & Fold is for. We make analog tools for that practice, things built with care and designed to pull you away from the noise long enough to ask yourself a real question. We want every one of them to feel the way that journal finally did. Less like a form to fill in, more like a conversation. The journal was the first. It won't be the last.
